Accident Benefits

Evans Philp’s dedicated Accident Benefits Group advances our clients’ interest through tribunal litigation and private arbitration on all matters involving Ontario’s no-fault regime, including benefit disputes, priority and loss transfer questions, and coverage issues. As one of the largest practice groups in Ontario committed exclusively to the practice of Accident Benefits law, our lawyers and support staff are uniquely positioned to provide clients with a high level of knowledge, experience, and competency.

Focused on litigation, our lawyers appear frequently before the Licence Appeal Tribunal and regularly handle matters through Reconsideration and Appeal processes. Our practice is supported by a staff of highly capable and dedicated clerks and legal assistants who ensure that matters are handled attentively and efficiently for our clients.

Like our peers in the Tort Group, our lawyers are known for their ongoing contributions to the legal landscape in this area and regularly present as speakers at industry seminars. Tort

Evans Philp’s dedicated Tort Group provides litigation defence in a wide range of insured matters across Ontario, including all manner of personal injury claims, product liability, fire and property claims including fraud, professional negligence, and quasi-criminal matters. The group benefits from extensive experience at all levels of court, as well as with alternative dispute resolution. This expertise is a shared strength: our students and associates are involved early and in earnest; and our support staff become specialists in their own right.

The Tort Group also has a long history of providing legal opinions on all matters of tort law, including complex coverage issues, priority, and matters with jurisdictional complications. We regularly present as speakers at seminars for the legal profession, the insurance industry, and insured associations as well.
